Statement on the school shooting update in Winder, Georgia

Hi Everyone:

I wanted to share with you in this brief message right here on the blog regarding about the school shooting investigation incident that took place from yesterday's morning at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. 

My team from The Jimmy Hui Foundation for Law and Government and The North Quincy Nights Strategic Response Unit have been working very closely with the federal, state and local partners on the ground in Winder, Georgia over the last 24-48 hours in the order to conduct an ongoing investigation to put these pieces into the puzzles without the jumping any conclusions and misinformation about what happened from yesterday's tragedy. 

I have received a full briefing with my team during in the closed door meeting here in my office at The Jimmy Hui Foundation office to gather all of the information about what happened from yesterday's shooting incident that took place at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.

That's why, we don't want to jump in the conclusions or facts without any misinformation that cause any interfere on the federal, state and local law enforcement officials are doing their jobs to conduct an ongoing investigation where the crime scene was being sealed off at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia until the further notice under these circumstances for the time being.

It's very emotional. It's very disturbing right here and right now. 

I would like to offer a full condolences to the students, staff and families of the Apalachee High School for their loss of those were killed during in the difficult time of the tragedy and to offer with our thoughts and prayers for those are still remain in the hospitalized from their gunshot wounds based on their injuries and will expect to be road to the recovery efforts right here and right now.

I would like to thank the men and women of the first responders, law enforcement officials and the emergency personnel for their quick response to the scene at Apalachee High School during the bright daylight hours from yesterday's school shooting incident in Winder, Georgia.

I will continue to do my best as I can make sure that we have enough law enforcement personnel from the Quincy Police Department will continue to increase patrol in all across the citywide to make sure that schools are safe environment throughout the 2024-2025 school year right here in the City of Quincy.

Under the leadership with Police Chief Mark Kennedy's confidence that we will make sure that we have 3 School Resource Officers and 2 DARE Officers will continue to be on the site throughout the 2024-2025 school year cycle at Quincy Public Schools to keep the students and staff safe environment in the classroom here in Quincy.
