MBTA Red Line Update

Hi Everyone:

We are making some progress on the Red Line shuttle buses over the last few days and weeks in the month of September as we are moving forward in the right directions right here and right now which we are monitoring very closely on the track work and infrastructure activity from Braintree Station to JFK/UMass Station.

My team have been working very closely with the MBTA and MBTA Transit Police Department officials around in the clock to make sure that shuttle buses are running smoothly to be on the time and on the schedule without any disruption delay during the commute rush hours from Braintree Station to Ashmont Station.

The Emergency Operations Center will continue to work very closely with the MBTA and MBTA Transit Police Department throughout the day and night here in my office at The Jimmy Hui Foundation to focus on the public health, safety, security and transportation matters right here in the City of Quincy.

We will do our best as we can make sure that shuttle buses are running service in the between from Braintree Station to Ashmont Station until the regular service will return back to the normal on Monday, September 30, 2024 with the latest.

We do really appreciate with all of your cooperation and patience while the MBTA crews are doing their part to do their work to get things done as quickly as possible without any delay right here and right now.

There is no time to do some blame game right here and right now. We have to get things done as quickly as possible to fix the major problem on every infrastructure and every track work activity in the progress in all across the area from Braintree Station to JFK/UMass Station throughout the day and night due to the speed restriction issues that cause problem on the Red Line trains over the last few days, weeks, months and years here at home.

We hear you. We do understand your frustration and anger about the speed restrictions issues on the Red Line trains over the last few days, weeks, months and years during the commute rush hours.

There is no time to point fingers at any elected officials or the T officials. We are going to move forward for the better future into the a new chapter and new generations that we do want to make sure that T riders are able to access and navigate wherever they can go based on their destination once the speed restrictions will come to an end of the year before the New Year's Eve comes around in the corner right here at home.

There is no specific timeline when we will return back to the normal without any speed restrictions at anytime and anywhere.

We will keep you posted when we have a new information comes in available as warranted on the Red Line service in the progress report.

Thank you very much for your time and have a great day.

Jimmy Hui
